About: Johnny Woods is an animator, video artist, and editor based in Los Angeles. He has received commissions from MOCA, The Museum of Sex, and the Bonnaroo Music Festival, as well as from musicians like Big Boi, Neon Indian, Classixx, Giorgio Moroder, Twin Shadow, Bear In Heaven, Chrome Canyon, and Hooray For Earth. As a performing video artist, he has appeared at such venues as the Sydney Opera House, MoMA, LACMA, the Hirshhorn Museum, ICA (Philadelphia), Coachella, and Lollapalooza. Johnny's video work has been featured on The Huffington Post, Creator's Project, Motionographer, Pitchfork, MocaTV, Vice, Liquid Television, and numerous others. Currently, Johnny is working primarily on short-form experimental films. He is co-founder of Ghosting.tv, a monthly screening event in Los Angeles featuring experimental animation and video art, programmer for Animation Breakdown at The Cinefamily, and director of Undervolt & Co., a label for experimental video artists.
